Elvis Costello is an enigma. He is an artist with as many hits as he has albums, of which there are plenty. He is chameleon-like on stage and offers wonderful variations of his best-known works and yet has a whole order of deep cuts and oddities right there, dying for a playthrough. Such is the point of this recent tour with longtime bandmate Steve Nieve. The pair embark on a trip through the earliest works to their unreleased highs with a performance at City Varieties Music Hall in Leeds.
